Huber, Martin
Martin Huber is a technical writer and watch entrepreneur. He was the former owner and manager of the tradition-steeped watch shop Uhren Huber in Munich with three branches in the city (now taken over by Swiss watch manufacturer and department store Bucherer). Uhren Huber bore the title “Royal Bavarian court clockmaker” (Königlich Bayerischer Hofuhrmacher), which in 1912 was awarded by the then Prince Regent. Martin Huber led the watch store Andreas Huber (in Munich always called “Uhren Huber”), which he took over in the fourth generation, to success for decades and is one of the best known and most respected watch personalities in Germany. He was closely known and friends with other protagonists of the watch industry such as Günter Blümlein (IWC) or Gerd-Rüdiger Lang (Chronoswiss).
With his books about Patek Philippe (together with Alan Banbery) and about A. Lange & Söhne Martin Huber has created two standard works of watch literature.
