Grand Seiko Hi-Beat 36000 80 hours is a wristwatch from the Grand Seiko brand in the “Grand Seiko Heritage Collection” series.
Its dial is inspired by the slender white birch forests that thrive in the northern parts of Japan and grow near Grand Seiko's Shizukuishi studio, where this and all other Grand Seiko mechanical watches are made.
The design of the watch is based on the Grand Seiko style defined 1967 with the famous Grand Seiko 44GS.
The watch is powered by the automatic Hi-Beat Cal. 9SA5, which achieves an accuracy of -3 to +5 seconds per day and a long power reserve of 80 hours. The manufacture calibre features a newly designed escapement and an in-house developed free-sprung balance. Grand Seiko describes this movement as “the brand's best mechanical movement to date.”
The watch was awarded the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève 2021 award for the “best men's watch”.
