Heart Beat Tourbillon Manufacture is a wristwatch by Frederique Constant.

In 2008 the company presented its first Heart Beat manufacture movement in the luxury version with tourbillon. As distinctive feature it has for the first time worldwide an escapement wheel made of silicon. The Model Heart Beat Manufacture Tourbillon presented this noble movement in a rose gold edition limited to 188 pieces. The new edition of December 2008 in white gold is limited to 88 pieces.

Among the advantages of the silicon escapement wheel is a friction tending towards zero, by which the energy loss and the wear is reduced. The function is also maintained without lubricants. This fact frees from the disadvantages of lubricating oils, such as aging, drying out, evaporating or of pollution of the movement at undesirable points through leakage.

Through the use of lightweight silicon the escapement wheel gets a lower inertia, thus the energy output of the movement is noticeably improved. Thanks to these advantages is the silicon escapement wheel - compared with the normal specimens from steel - are especially qualified for use in tourbillons.
