Czapek & Cie SA is a Geneva-based maker of watches, re-established in 2011.
History
Czech-born Polish watchmaker Franciszek Czapek arrived in Geneva in 1832 and began producing watches shortly after. In 1839, Czapek and Antoni Patek created Patek, Czapek & Cie. as a producer of fine watches and predecessor to today's Patek Philippe. Czapek continued as Czapek & Cie. until 1869, when the company fell out of his control and eventually became dormant.
Xavier de Roquemaurel, Harry Guhl, and Sébastien Follonier re-established the company on October 21, 2011 and raised over 2 million CHF by 2015 to return it to market.
Czapek won the Public Prize at the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève for the 33 bis Quai des Bergues in November, 2016.
