Type 20 Chronographe 2057 is a pilot's watch from Breguet.

This model is inspired by the legendary pilot chronographs made by Breguet, which were delivered to the French Air Force between 1955 and 1959. They were named “Type 20” in Arabic numerals, unlike all others, including those for the “Aéronautique Navale”, which were marked “Type XX” in Roman numerals.

It is equipped with the newly developed high-beat caliber 726 with flyback function, which has the high power reserve of 60 hours.

The innovative activation and zero-resetting systems have been designed for crisp and accurate use. Whatever function is performed, the pressure felt on the pushers will be even and balanced. The same applies to the vertical clutch mechanism, which has been adopted for the accuracy of its activation. The chronograph hand thus starts instantly without any initial jerks. To make the movement robust and guarantee its precision even in case of potential impacts, a cross-through bridge was chosen to secure the balance in place. Sized in such a way as to occupy a maximum of the available space within the movement, the barrel – the energy source – is equipped with a spring whose high-energy-density material enables a longer power reserve.

A lot of work went into the aesthetics of this new movement. In addition to the sunburst pattern, colimaçonnage, bevelling, perlage and other decorations visible on the components, the column wheel is finished with DLC (diamond-like carbon) treatment. This coating provides contrast and optimizes friction properties. The blackened gold oscillating weight is shaped like an airplane wing and can be viewed through the sapphire crystal caseback.

The more “civilian” sibling model Type XX Chronographe 2067 features a rotating bezel with hour markers and three totalizers instead of two.
