Luxury watch with tourbillon by A. Lange & Söhne, part of the Pour le Mérite line.
This watch, whose name refers to the highest German order of merit, exhibits a construction which was never realized in a wristwatch before the drive of the gear train via fusée-and-chain transmission. This complicated mechanism is used to optimize the precision and is visualized by a recess in the three-quarter plate. A further feature is the complexly constructed planetary gear, which keeps the driving power of the watch constant during winding.
The heart of the watch is a manual winding manufacture movement L902.0. The fascinating motion of the tourbillon bogie can be observed both on the dial side and through the sapphire crystal caseback. The watch case is made of gold or platinum.
This model was produced in a limited edition from 1994 to 1998 (in platinum 50 pieces, in gold 150 pieces - including 15 in white gold and 15 in rose gold).
