Operating indicator
An operating indicator is a simple window, usually color-coded, which shows whether a watch movement is running or not.
The operating indicator can be tied to the main time display or a chronograph function. For example, the JLC 751 uses a rotating operating indicator rather than a seconds hand to show that time is passing. In contrast, the JLC 975 uses an operating indicator on the chronograph to show whether it is read, in motion, or stopped.
