Heuer Easy Rider

Easy Rider is a wristwatch by Leonidas-Heuer.

Sports chronograph by Leonidas-Heuer (now TAG Heuer); also called “Jacky Ickx Easy Rider”, according to the Belgian Formula 1 racing driver whose lettering is printed on the dial. In 1972 the watch was presented on the Basel watch fair. As inexpensive model it was addressed particularly to young buyers. The low price resulted from the use of a calibre EB 8420 with inexpensive pin-lever escapement (Roskopf movement).

Now sought after as collector's item, the price of this model has become a multiple of the former purchase price.

There was also a kind of “clone” of the watch, this time marketed by the company Sorna and with the same movement. Here, the pushers and the crown were on the unusual position at the upper strap (i.e. at 11 h - 1 h).
