Nicolas G. Hayek was a business consultant and watch entrepreneur. He was born on 19 February 1928 in Beirut, Lebanon. He grew up in Beirut largely in the care of his Lebanese mother. His father George N. Hayek was American.

Hayek contributed significantly to the creation of the trend and fashion watch Swatch and also played a dicisive role in the formation of the Swatch Group, which today is the greatest watch trust in the world.

In 2004 Hayek became honorary citizen of Biel. In 2007 he received the Lifetime Award of the Swiss Awards. In 2008, Nicolas G. Hayek received the prestigious Prix Gaïa Esprit d'Entreprise award.

Nicolas G. Hayek died on June 28, 2010 at the age of 82 years on heart failure while working in his office.
