• In a war bombardement on 1 April the IWC factory site escapes just close its total destruction. The bomb dropped by an American pilot hits the adjacent building and sets it on fire. Later that year, the IWC Mark X is supplied to British pilots.
• Valjoux SA becomes part of Ebauches SA.
