With a 5 in the [[Mohs]] hardness scale mineral glass is located between [[Plexiglass|acrylic glass]] and [[sapphire crystal]]. Mineral glass with hardened mineral surface and 6-7 Mohs is nevertheless harder than [[steel]]. The rupture safety of mineral glass is inferior to both the acrylic glass and the sapphire crystal.

Today high quality watches should fundamentally be equipped with [[sapphire crystal]].
