**Nickel silver** (or **German Silver**, **new silver** or **alpacca**; French //Cuivre blanc// or //Maillechort//, German //Neusilber//)\\ is an alloy of [[nickel]] (12 to 25%), copper (47 to 65%) and zinc (10 to 40%), which has a good corrosion resistance and is used also for watch cases. It provides a better robustness than brass. Nickel lends the material nickel silver the feature of little oxidation. Therefore a galvanic postprocessing of the material is unneeded --- it can be left "natural".
