====== Jaeger-LeCoultre Geomatic ====== **Géomatic** was an automatic watch produced by Jaeger-LeCoultre from 1961 through 1970 The Geomatic was a follow-on model to the manually-wound Geophysic of 1958. While that was a "tool watch", the Geomatic was intended to be worn as an elegant fashion statement, embracing science and technology but not intended for practical use by scientists and explorers. Like the Geophysic, the Geomatic was an officially-certified chronometer, an unusual distinction for a Jaeger-LeCoultre watch. The dial is simple, with silver or champagne "sunburst" or "sun ray" texture, printed lettering, and applied hour markers. It was produced in a classic round case, a squareish tonneau, and an integrated bracelet look. The case back of the Geomatic features a gold disc with the "planisphere" logo found on the special Geophysic watches presented to US submarine commanders. In all, 2,000 stainless steel and approximately 2,300 gold Geomatics were produced. ===== Movement and Models ===== Jaeger-LeCoultre equipped various models of the Geomatic with two movements * [[JLC 881|Cal.
